1. Sponsor “Shower for Vets” at November Club meeting by asking members to donate personal care items for veterans who are patients at McGuire Veteran’s Hospital in Richmond.
2 Participate with American Legion, VFW, MOAA and Rotary Club in presenting patriotic programs on POW/MIA Recognition Day, Veterans Day and Memorial Day on the Courthouse Green, including laying a wreath at the war memorial at each event.
3. Recognize and express appreciation to local law officers on Law Day, May 1, 2019.
e. Support 'Sew Much Comfort', which provides special clothing for wounded veterams.

.The Public Issues Committee cooperated with the Essex County Museum and Historical Society in planning the program for the dedication of the USS Tappahannock Memorial and provided and helped serve refreshments following the program. The event was successful and very well-attended. The committee participated with Patti Rowley in holding the annual POW/MIA Remembrance which was held on the Courthouse Green on September 21. We express appreciation to Patti for a job well-done.
